A Kajabi export is less scary once you know what comes out. Contacts, customer lists and subscription records come out as CSV files. Course and page designs come out as zip files that are meant for another Kajabi site. Videos download one at a time. Blog posts and lesson text don't export at all, so you copy those by hand.
When coaches ask me about moving off Kajabi, the first worry is almost always the same: what happens to my stuff? Fair question. Nobody wants to find a gap after the plan is cancelled.
This guide covers the export step by itself: each part of your account, what Kajabi's help centre says you can export (checked October 2026), and the order I'd save things in. If you want the bigger cutover plan, with timing and member emails, that lives in my guide to moving off Kajabi without losing members.
What You Can Export from Kajabi at a Glance
Here's the whole picture in one table, from Kajabi's help centre (checked October 2026). Where it doesn't show an export, I've given the manual route.
| What | Export option | Where to find it | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Contacts and customers | Yes | Contacts, Bulk Actions, Export | CSV by email, link expires after 3 days |
| Subscriptions and payment plans | Yes, records | Sales, Subscriptions or Payment Plans, More Actions | CSV by email |
| Offer purchases | Yes | Sales, Pricing, the offer's More Actions menu | CSV by email |
| Form submissions | Yes | Marketing, Forms, Submissions, Export | CSV by email |
| Course template | Yes, design | Products, Customize, Product Template menu | Zip by email, link expires after 7 days |
| Course videos | Download one by one | Lesson, Video Actions, Download Video | The original video file |
| Lesson text and downloads | No export shown | Copy by hand, keep the original files | Your backup folder |
| Landing pages and website design | Yes, for Kajabi | Website, Pages or Design, the page or template menu | Zip by email |
| Blog posts | No | Copy text and images by hand | Your backup folder |
Two things the table can't show:
- Most exports arrive by email. Kajabi sends the file or a link to the address on your account, so check that inbox before you start.
- "Yes, design" means design. The course template and page zips are built to import onto another Kajabi site. They won't drop your lessons into a different platform.
How to Export Your Contacts and Customers
If you save one thing (and please save more), make it this. To export contacts from Kajabi, you work from the Contacts tab. The help centre lays it out like this (checked October 2026):
- From your Dashboard, click Contacts.
- Filter or pick a Segment for the people you want.
- Select them, or click Select All to take the whole Segment.
- Open the Bulk Actions menu and choose Export.
- Click Submit to confirm.
The CSV is emailed to the address on your Kajabi account with the subject line "Contact export process completed". The download link expires after 3 days. If it lapses, run the export again. If the link opens as raw text in your browser, right-click it and choose "Save link as".
One limit worth knowing: Kajabi says your contact export is limited to the contacts limit of your plan (checked October 2026). If you're near that limit, export in Segments so nobody slips through.
Download each file the day it arrives. The contacts link expires after 3 days and the course template and landing page links after 7 (checked October 2026). Save every file to one backup folder, then rename it with the date.
Export the Full List or a Segment
You can export everyone at once, one person at a time, or a filtered list. For a backup, I'd do one full export, then a few smaller ones that make sense by themselves, such as:
- Paying customers for each main offer
- Free subscribers who joined through a lead magnet
- Your community or membership members
- People with a key tag, such as a program cohort or a past event
Kajabi lets you stack up to 10 filters, including Offers and Tags (checked October 2026). Save each one as a Segment and the export takes a few clicks.
Keep Your Tags and Offers Readable in the CSV
Here's the quiet trap. A full CSV can be hard to read later, especially if your tags were named in a hurry years ago. Open each file in Google Sheets or Excel and check the columns before you cancel anything.
If you can't tell who bought what, lean on the Segment exports above. A file named "program buyers October 2026" explains itself. Then add two exports that carry purchase detail:
- Offer purchase reports. From Sales, then Pricing, open an offer's More Actions menu, pick a date range and export. The report lists each buyer's name, email and purchase date, plus deactivation dates (checked October 2026).
- Form submissions. Under Marketing, then Forms, open a form, click Submissions, then Export. You get the submission time, name, email and landing page (checked October 2026).
Your Course Videos and Files
This is where most of the confusion lives. People search "Kajabi export course", find the course template export, and assume their lessons are in the zip. They aren't.
The course template export (Products, open the course, Customize, then the Product Template card's menu, then Export as zip) gives you the page design for importing onto a different Kajabi site. The link arrives by email and expires 7 days from the export (checked October 2026). For the product content itself, the help centre says to make a manual backup.
So, can you download videos from Kajabi? Yes, as the admin, one at a time:
- Open Products, choose the course, then the lesson with the video.
- Open the Video Actions menu under the player.
- Click Download Video. A new tab opens with the video.
- Use the more icon in the bottom corner of the player and choose Download.
Videos on landing or website pages download the same way, through the Video Block's Video Actions in the sidebar editor (checked October 2026).
With a lot of lessons, that's slow. So check your laptop, your editor's project folder and your cloud storage for the original files before you start downloading lesson by lesson.
For the rest of a course (lesson text, quizzes, attached PDFs and worksheets), I couldn't find an export in the help centre. Copy lesson text into a document, keep the original files in your backup folder, and write down the module and lesson order.
Pages, Emails and the Website
Pages export with the same catch as courses. A Kajabi export website backup has two parts.
- Landing pages. Website, then Pages, then the Landing page folder. Open the page's menu and choose Export. A zip arrives by email and the link expires after 7 days (checked October 2026).
- Website design. Website, then Design, then Saved Templates. Open the template's menu and choose Export as .zip. The file is emailed to the admin who's logged in (checked October 2026).
Both files are meant for another Kajabi site. If you're heading somewhere else, keep them as a record, then screenshot key pages and copy your page text into a document. That's what you'll rebuild from.
Emails are the gap people forget. I couldn't find an export for email broadcasts or sequences in the help centre (checked October 2026). Open each email you want to keep and copy the subject line and body into a document, in order. Dull work, and it saves you rewriting your best emails from memory.
Blog posts are clear-cut. The help centre says they can't be exported or downloaded, and suggests copying each post's text and images into a document (checked October 2026). Do this before you touch your domain.
What Does Not Come With You
Some things don't move with a file at all. Better to know now than the week you cancel.
- Live subscriptions. You can export subscription records as a CSV, with fields like customer email, offer title, status, amount, interval, next payment date and provider (checked October 2026). That's a record, not a transfer. Active subscriptions don't move to another platform because you have a CSV. Billing somewhere else is a separate plan, covered in the cutover guide for moving off Kajabi.
- Logins and course progress. I couldn't find an export for member passwords or course completion in the help centre. Plan for members to set up a fresh login wherever you go next.
- Community posts and comments. I couldn't find an export for these either. Copy any threads worth keeping into a document.
- Automations. The logic (when this tag is added, send that email) doesn't export. Write each one down in plain words.
None of this is a reason to panic. It's a reason to make a list. Every gap has a manual route, and it's mostly copy and paste.
If you're weighing up whether to go at all, start with my honest take on whether Kajabi is worth it, and how the recent Kajabi price increase changes the maths.
An Export Checklist Before You Cancel
Here's the order I'd work in, a few weeks before your renewal, not the night before.
- Make one backup folder outside Kajabi.
- Export your full contact list, then the Segments that matter. Open every CSV and check the columns.
- Export subscription and payment plan records, plus offer purchase reports for your main offers.
- Export form submissions for any lead magnet or application form you still use.
- Gather your original videos, and download from Kajabi anything you can't find elsewhere.
- Copy lesson text, emails, community threads and blog posts into documents, with the order written down.
- Export your course template, landing pages and website design as a record, and screenshot the key pages.
- Write down your automations, offers and prices in plain words.
- Check the folder, then decide what happens next. Cancel last.
Once the files are safe, you can take your time choosing where they land. For my business, I build on ESTAGE, a business hub that brings your website, community, courses and CRM into one place under your name. I'm an ESTAGE Founding Ambassador and earn a commission if you sign up through my links. ESTAGE is in its invitation phase, and it won't suit everyone. Here's what ESTAGE is in plain language.
If you're still comparing platforms, my Kajabi alternatives guide is a good next stop. And if the export showed you how many tools you've been stitching together, run through the coaching tech stack audit before you rebuild anywhere.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you export everything from Kajabi?
No. Contacts, subscription records, payment plans, offer purchases and form submissions export as CSV files. Course templates, landing pages and website designs export as zip files for another Kajabi site. Videos download one at a time. Blog posts, lesson text and email sequences have no export in the help centre, so you copy them by hand (checked October 2026).
How do I export my contacts from Kajabi?
Go to Contacts, filter or choose a Segment, select the contacts (or Select All), then open Bulk Actions, choose Export and click Submit. Kajabi emails a CSV to your account address with the subject "Contact export process completed". The link expires after 3 days, and the export is limited to your plan's contacts limit (checked October 2026).
Can you download your course videos from Kajabi?
Yes. As the admin, open the lesson, use the Video Actions menu under the player and choose Download Video, then download it from the tab that opens. It's one video at a time, so check your folders for the original files first. The course template export doesn't include your videos or lessons.
Can I export my Kajabi website?
You can export landing pages and your website design template as zip files, which arrive by email. They're built for another Kajabi site, not a different platform (checked October 2026). For anywhere else, copy your page text and screenshot the layouts you want to rebuild.
Do Kajabi subscriptions transfer to another platform?
Not with an export. You can download subscription records as a CSV, but active subscriptions don't move because you have the file. Billing on a new platform is a separate step, and my guide to moving off Kajabi without losing members walks through that cutover.
What should I export before cancelling Kajabi?
Your contact list and key Segments, subscription and payment plan records, offer purchase reports, form submissions, original videos, lesson text, emails, community threads and blog posts. Save your course template, landing pages and website design as a record too. Check the folder, then cancel.
